How are counselors selected to be part of the network?
Counselors are carefully screened by a panel composed of a group of qualified board members who have a passion for seeing quick and competent response to immediate counseling needs. Counselors are chosen to receive an invitation based on their individual qualifications, including: state certification in good standing, ministry experience, and references from trusted individuals and organizations.
What role does PastorCare.net play in the process?
PastorCare.net is our attempt to connect church leaders in crisis with counselors who understand church leadership issues and can provide very quick and intensive counseling where needed. There are many great counseling facilities that are well known among independent churches nationwide; unfortunately the response time tends to be very slow. In some cases, there may be a wait measured in months, and some issues leaders face simply require a faster response. Our role is to connect the need directly to the care provider.
How does PastorCare.net fund its operations?
PastorCare.net is designed to require very little in the way of funding. Most if not all of the costs are absorbed by volunteer time and resources, but we welcome contributions if you share the passion that we have for reaching our to help church leaders in need.
How does PastorCare.net handle confidentiality?
Short answer: We don't. Longer answer: We do not attempt to collect any personal information. You are free to look at our list of counselors and contact them directly. We would appreciate you telling us how we're doing and giving us some feedback on the counselors on our list, and of course all of that feedback is anonymous unless you give us your personal information at your discretion. We know that there are ways to track Internet connections back to an ISP, but your confidentiality is important enough to us that we are working with our web host to ensure that none of the information regarding where the connections to our server come from is kept.

If you are interested in helping out, PastorCare will gladly accept your contribution. Housing for retreating pastors and their families during counseling, or any other resources, may be brought to our attention thorugh the contact form.
